Description

Our uniquely designed assembly allows for precision alignment to ensure all specimens are loaded accurately. Our overall design enables the user to quickly load and unload samples in a timely manner with ease and efficiency. The ball screw press features a 50,000 pound of force (lbf) computer-controlled load frame with triaxial cells for testing of 1” to 2” diameter core samples at confining stresses up to 20,000 psi.


 


Specifications

 

  • 50,000 LB maximum load capacity
  • Strain Rods: 2” diameter, precision ground 1045 steel rods stresses to a maximum of 4000 PSI in tension
  • Drive: Emerson (or equal), MG490 Servo-Motor Direct coupled to input shafts of Ball Screw Jacks; mounted to top cross head if press; jacks are 24:1 ratio
  • Top Head: 4” thick solid steel, Blanchard ground top and bottom, heavy duty design to limit deflection to 0.0001’ at 50,000 lb load
  • Bottom Plate: 4” thick solid steel, Blanchard ground top and bottom , machined with a counter-bored pilot diameter, and drilled and tapped for future clamping of test fixtures
  • Assembly: Basic press will be assembled and tested for motion, speed, and accuracy on a no-load basis
