Routine Core Analysis
Routine Permeability (Gas/Liquid)
Steady-state permeability measured with gas rather than water, so there is no reaction with the rock and samples remain clean at the end of the measurement.
What you receive
- Stressed steady-state permeability
- Klinkenberg-corrected permeability
- Measurements at constant temperature
- Gas or liquid permeability
- Reporting across the full measured range
- Standard industry permeameters cover roughly 0.001 to 30,000 millidarcy, and error grows sharply at or below 0.001 millidarcy where instrument resolution becomes the limiting factor.
- Our steady-state permeameter is designed for that low-permeability end, measuring stressed steady-state permeability with nitrogen at constant temperature using digital pressure transducers, mass flow controllers and an oven-enclosed core holder.
- Gas slippage, which skews true permeability, is handled by taking multiple permeability measurements through the testing cycle and plotting them; the points align on a line intersecting the y-axis at Klinkenberg permeability.
- Sample sizes are 1 inch and 1.5 inch diameter.
- The permeameter can be connected to other testing systems including high temperature, high pressure and compaction cells.
