HPHT IOR/EOR Testing

Only 20 to 40 percent of crude oil is typically extracted during primary and secondary recovery. Enhanced recovery testing characterises what more can be recovered, and at what cost.

What you receive

  • Oil recovery as a function of cyclic gas injection
  • Oil and gas composition characterisation
  • Recovery efficiency at near in-situ conditions
  • Collected fluids retained for further analysis
  • Programme design support from our EOR team

Designed for low permeability rocks in the low nanodarcy range. Sample dimensions: 0.5″ length × 1″ diameter.

  • Fluids and EOR studies improve reservoir characterisation by establishing the recovery potential of the well and the integrity of the caprock, which together determine whether developing the well makes economic sense.
  • Cyclic injection, thermal recovery and chemical injection are the most common approaches used in industry.
  • We characterise recovery efficiency at near in-situ reservoir conditions using a cyclic gas huff and puff mechanism, on intact plug samples.
  • Gas and oil are collected during the experiment so composition can be analysed afterwards rather than inferred.
