Routine Core Analysis
Measuring core and fluid parameters that support efficient recovery of hydrocarbons, reducing uncertainty in reservoir evaluation by providing data representative of the reservoir at in-situ conditions.
All Services
- Porosity and Grain Density
- Routine Permeability (Gas/Liquid)
- CT Scanning
- Soxhlet Dean-Stark Cleaning
- Photography
- Flow-Through Cleaning
- Supercritical CO2 Cyclic Sample Cleaning
- MetaRock has years of experience conducting routine core analysis — measurements on core plugs or whole core including porosity, grain density, permeability, and fluid saturation determination.
- From core storage and photography through to sample drilling, we take particular care over core preparation and handling, because the core is the most direct representation of the reservoir available.
- For sample drilling we use a purpose-built press capable of drilling a wide range of rock types.
- The press applies hydrostatic stress to the core while drilling, and combined with our in-house capability to apply hydrostatic stress, this raises plugging success rates considerably.
- Both techniques matter most with shale plugs, which part along bedding and laminations easily.
